A mixture of design, glass fusing, cow pastures, struggles and determination. And what happens when you melt things together.

Can You Move Your Horns, Please? They're, like, totally in my way
Okay, I realize this has little to do with anything, everything to do with nothing, anything to do with something, ...but check out these long-horned cattle! The photo above is from a recent trip to Texas -- the Fort Worth Stockyards. Imagine waking up in the morning and having to pick up that much weight just to lift your head off the pillow -- er, sawdust.
I grew up on a small dairy farm in southern Vermont and moved out to Portland, Oregon on (more or less) a whim after graduating from the University of Vermont with a degree in Philosophy. Sunup Jewelry is my little project which has recently become my fulltime job. If I don't give this my complete and uninterrupted attention, it will not grow and thrive the way I need it to. It's my attempt to finally do what I really want to be doing with my one little shot at life.
